I’ve got to change my guitar strings and I’ve got songs to play,
Well I couldn’t figure out which one I’d really like to do,
So I sat down and wrote this little song for you

To say thank you to the Grand Ole Opry,
For giving all my friends a place to play,

Well I’ve been here in Nashville for a couple years or more,
I always saw the big old sign when driving to the store,
Well my dream is coming true, and I get to sing beneath the lights,
at the Grand Ole Opry on a Saturday night
